JOB TITLE: Medical Transport Aide
SCHEDULED WORK TIMES/LOCATION
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
We are looking for a highly organized and safety-focused Transportation Aide to join our team. As an essential part of our transportation department, you will ensure the safe, timely and efficient transport of individuals to and from various locations. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Weekday Hours: Scheduled based on patient appointments, typically between 8 AM and 5 PM.
- Weekend Hours: An occasional weekend appointment may be a possibility

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Organize and maintain an appointment calendar
- Schedule medical appointments for in-house residents
- Make, track, and change medical appointments
- Communicate openly with nursing and medical team
- Ensure safety and monitor vehicles and residents
- Maintain and organize residents’ records
- Maintain a pleasant demeanor despite frustrations (e.g., canceled or last-minute appointments)
- Communicate effectively with residents, nursing staff, and medical offices via phone and email
- Understand basic needs of residents related to transport
- Maintain basic resident information
- Communicate appointment reasons to physicians and handle necessary paperwork
- Report on appointment outcomes and appointment changes to nursing, medical team and liaisons
- Maintain confidentiality and observe HIPAA guidelines
- Shares office space with nursing staff
- Assist with onboarding, and departing the vehicle and office
- Keep vehicle clean
- Maintain accurate records and mileage logs
- Drive a well-maintained vehicle in all types of weather
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to safety and a desire to help others.
- Maintains positive relations with residents and staff
- Flexible and able to adjust schedule quickly
- Recognizes and reports changes in residents’ physical and mental conditions to nursing staff
- Uses initiative and good judgement in transport and emergencies
- Genuine interest in the elderly population
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Some medical background preferred.
- At least one year of relevant experience or equivalent education and training.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and knowledge of GPS.
- Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A) certification required.
- CPR and first aid certification is a plus.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
